These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Medichat platform, including the Medichat website, mobile applications, software, and related services (collectively, the "Platform"). By accessing or using Medichat, you agree to be legally bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Platform.

⚠ Emergency Disclaimer — Non‑Negotiable

Medichat is NOT for emergencies. If you are experiencing severe pain, difficulty breathing, loss of consciousness, severe bleeding, or any life‑threatening condition — do not use Medichat. Call local emergency services or go to the nearest hospital immediately.

1 Definitions

"Medichat"Medichat Technologies, incorporated under the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
"User"Any person who accesses or uses the Platform, including patients and visitors.
"Healthcare Provider"Licensed medical or allied health professionals who provide services via the Platform.
"Services"Remote consultations, health information exchange, appointment scheduling, messaging, and related digital health services.
"Content"Text, audio, video, images, medical records, messages, and any other material shared on the Platform.

2 Nature of the Platform

• Medichat is a technology platform, not a hospital, clinic, or medical practice.

• Medichat does not practice medicine, diagnose conditions, or prescribe treatment.

• All medical advice, decisions, diagnoses, and care are solely the responsibility of the licensed Healthcare Provider.

• Medichat does not guarantee medical outcomes.

3 Eligibility

Users

  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Or have parental / legal guardian consent

Healthcare Providers

  • Must hold valid professional licenses
  • Maintain good regulatory standing
  • Comply with all telemedicine laws

5 User Obligations

Users agree to provide accurate and truthful information, use the Platform lawfully, and not misuse the Platform for illegal prescriptions, controlled substances, or fraudulent medical reports.

6 Healthcare Provider Obligations

Healthcare Providers agree to practice within the scope of their license, maintain confidentiality, comply with applicable laws, and carry professional indemnity insurance.

7 Informed Consent

By using Medichat, you acknowledge that telemedicine has limitations, technical issues may occur, and physical examination or emergency care may be required.

8 No Guarantees or Warranties

The Platform is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind.

9 Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Medichat shall not be liable for medical malpractice, misdiagnosis, treatment outcomes, data loss from external cyber incidents, or indirect damages. Total liability shall not exceed fees paid in the preceding six (6) months.

10 Payments and Refunds

Fees are disclosed before services are rendered. Refunds are governed by Medichat's Refund Policy and applicable laws.

11 Intellectual Property

All Platform intellectual property belongs to Medichat. Unauthorized copying or resale is prohibited.

12 Termination

Medichat may suspend or terminate access for violations, legal reasons, or safety concerns.

13 Dispute Resolution

Governing Law: Federal Republic of Nigeria. Disputes shall be resolved amicably or by arbitration in Nigeria.

14 Changes to Terms

Continued use of the Platform after updates constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
